3 Points of Order [Apr. 22nd, 2008|10:57 pm]
1.)  As many of you have guessed, this blog is pretty much dead.  Sorry, friends.

2.) I currently maintain two blogs which readers might be interested in checking out: The Blag Switch and Fifty-Two Tuesdays.  The former is a general personal blog, the second is my music blog.

3.) I'm currently looking for a summer subletter.  If you need housing this summer in the GU area, get in touch with me.  It's a great room (furnished, utilities included, sink, balcony) for $390/month.  For more info see my Craigslist ad.

Hey everyone, forgot to post last night that new voting options are up over at my other, more frequently updated blog.  Stop by and check them out.  There's some great stuff this week including a new Foo Fighters album and new stuff from Sam Beam (Iron & Wine) whose beard fills me with awe and envy.  As of this week, I'm also going to start including a link with all of the options to places where you can hear samples of the artist's music, so if you feel like doing me a favor and hearing some (possibly) new music, stop by, click through the links, and let me know if you think they're helpful.

A couple have folks have asked me to start announcing updates to my other blog on this space again.  So if any of you are interested (and even if you're not, you disinterest isn't going to stop me, so there!  HA!), there's a new review and album options for next week up at Fifty-Two Tuesdays.

Bulletproof Baby [Aug. 22nd, 2007|12:35 pm]
This is actually a pretty good idea. I wonder if they ship to Columbia, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc. You know, places where people actually have to worry about this stuff, rather than the States, where kids are almost more at risk from their parents' over-protective paranoia than from, you know, ACTUAL danger.

Hooray, Japan

Seriously, you gotta love any country that would spend this much effort and find such entertainment in determining how many grams of fish a stray cat can haul off.

And as the Neatorama post accurately points out: the real winners are the cats.

How fuxed is the American political climate?

Candidate Grid

Incredibly. So, which flavor of conservative Authoritarianism are YOU voting for?

UPDATE: Apologies, I should have sourced this. I found it via this post at Crooks and Liars and it originates from the Political Compass site (currently down) via the Times Online blog.

(h/t to McLean and Dingel for pointing out my lack of sourcing.)

Seriously, we're totally living in the fucking future.

The Bad - Now this is just me being cynical and paranoid, no doubt, but: anybody else read this and think weaponized cancer cells?
The Awesome - A team in Japan develops a 3D Image Projector.

This is kind of late notice, but you should all make an effort to check out the Perseid meteor shower, which peaks tonight. Some folks and I went out last night, and the viewing was actually pretty good. In the course of maybe an hour we saw some really clear, bright meteors, including one of the coolest and brightest I've ever seen. And the viewing will be even better tonight.

If anyone's interested in joining me for some viewing, I'll be trekking out from my house at about 1am-ish (so in about 3 hours from when I posted this) to see what I can see.
